How do I make my movie audio sound old?

Anyone know of any programs that add artificial hisses, pops and crackles to wave files, so the audio sounds like it is from an old film?

I've gone so far as downconverting, in Cool Edit Pro, the original DV CD-quality audio to 1600 8-bit mono sound, adding a "light grunge" distortion effect and then running an "old time radio" filter over it. It sounds good, but the odd crackle and pop would sound even better here and there.

Can anyone help me please?

Izotope offers an excellent plugin for this(free download) called Vinyl. Here's the link.
