Just got a model Talking Dalek yesterday and decided to shoot some test footage to see how model Daleks would look in a film I intend to make. I'm shooting as a homage to the old 60s shows, but also because it covers a multitude of sins and you can get away with more than you can in colour!
One thing though - looking at the old 60s episodes of DOCTOR WHO, especially ones restored from 16mm film, it seems that the old B/W episodes have a sort of motion blur that is apparent, particularly when there is movement on screen. It's not really motion blur, but it looks like some kinda of slight blur. In the colour episodes this is not present.
Does anyone know how to successfully create the look of the old 60s-style shows in Premiere 6, i.e. what filters, etc. do I need to apply? I have shot in black and white, lightended and over-saturated the image, added some film grain and hair but it still doesn't look "right".
Also, any ideas what I can do with the sound to make it sound old and mono-y?
