Most of these run under 60k, but the one with all the video filters runs 188k. I'm not directly putting them into the post for those without broadband.

The new Audio Mixer:

Very neat. Note that you can group channels, among other things.

Storyboard/Add to A/B Roll:

Improvements here too. You can now set the overlap by frames instead of seconds, control cues, add a default transition and an automatic audio crossfade.

Image import/auto moving path:

http://digitalvideo.8m.net/msp7/image-auto.moving.path.jpg

Yup...you can import an image or images with an automatic stationary basic 2D moving path and the alpha channel automatically applied (for those images with one).

If the images are first imported to the Storyboard these can also have an "Add to A/B Roll" export done to the timeline with a default transition of definable length.

Uppance: instant slideshows;

General/Summary Timelines:

General Timeline is the "usual" timeline where you have to zoom way out to see the whole project, which means the transitions and audio crossfades are very tough to select/adjust.

General Timeline;

Summary Timeline is a whole other world. In Summary Timeline the clips are visually shortened while the transitions and audio crossfades are made a standard size so you can actually WORK with them. This is a PATENTED feature so you won't see it anywhere else!!

Summary Timeline;

Playback Options:

Here you can set your Instant Playback and High Quality playback devices, control your CPU utilization and the degree of multi-threading (even on single CPU systems);

Playback devices for Instant Playback;

http://digitalvideo.8m.net/msp7/playback.devices.jpg

Scrubbing can also be exported to these devices;

http://digitalvideo.8m.net/msp7/scrubbing.jpg

as can the preview windows of all the effects dialogs; titler, overlay options, transitions, video filters etc.

Some of the cooler new Video Filters:

ALL the video filters:

Windows Media 9 encoder:

And if you think that's all that's new you're nuts....

It's supposed to be ready to go in March.

One thing that didn't make my original post because of the hour is the updated Video Capture tool. It can now do Scan/Capture somewhat like Matrox's MediaTools, and save a "scan file" of what was done for later re-use, as well as capturing either DV type1 or type2.

It can also capture both MPEG-1/2 and WMV direct from IEEE-1394.
