This may sound very basic but: How do I simply select a portion of a captured video and save it as a seperate file. I've captured a very long video and want to break it into seperate parts to save on different dvd's. Video editing doesn't seem to be like editing jpg's where you just highlight a portion and copy, delete, etc.
Thank you,
Frank

Maybe it seems simplistic to more experienced users, but what I do in cases like that is to either do captures of different parts of the same video, or if you already have one long video, use the razor tool in Premiere to break it up into smaller chunks.

Or you can take and set your work area markers to the timeline area desired. Then when you export it, click on the settings button and change the default "entire project" to "work area".

Thank you both.
I guess in video editing not much is as simple as "cut & paste".
Thanks again,
Frank
