Thunderbolt 3 on PC Workstation, recommended cards or mother boards

I am looking at the QNAP NAS with Thunderbolt 3 (TVS 1282 T3). I would like to get my PC Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. I need help finding a motherboard with Thunderbolt 3 either built in or as an expansion card. Any recommendations for the best way to get Thunderbolt 3 on a PC?

I did see that Asus has the X99-Deluxe II on New Egg. Also B&H has the ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe LGA 2066 ATX Motherboard.

The rep from QNAP said he knew of customers using PCs and Thunderbolt for their NAS solutions. But he didn't have specifics on what hardware that was on the PCs. Need some help figuring this out.

Thanks!

Hi Chris,
I’ve just built our first pc edit suite and I’m looking to add a thunderbolt QNAP down the track.
I added a Gigabyte Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 PCI-E Card to the build. I am having some teething problems (first it was installed in the wrong slot, now the second thunderbolt port is not working) but I think it’s going to get me there. I’ve got a thunderbolt media drive working and daisy chaining from that to a Blackmagic Design mini monitor. Working well.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Glen

Hello,

Probably Qnap saying about customer using the Qnap with Thunderbolt 3 on Windows is me.

I've been using TVS1282T3 and T2 for longer than a year and safe to say it is very efficient.

look me up on facebook, so I can respond better.
