Hey guys,

I was looking into buying a 10bits monitor (approx 2000€) but realised my GTX 1060 only outputs 8bit to opengl/cl applications.
Then I came across the BlackMagic DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K at 200€ with a 10bit output... but a chroma subsampling of 4:2:2.

So I'm wondering about the worth of paying the extra bucks on a high precision monitor with that 10bit 4:2:2 feed.
PS : I don't really want to replace my 1060 for a Quadro

But what is the source video? If not 10-bit 4:2:2 then not sure what you might gain with the monitor setup.

Thanks

Jeff

The source video to the monitor is from Davinci Resolve
The source video footage are 10bit 4:2:2

From what I read, Resolve resamples everything to a 32float 4:4:4
And as Resolve is color managed, I would grade in a wider than srgb color space : P3 or Adobe RGB.
