Reinstall of RT2000
on May 29, 2003 at 7:58:31 pm

I have recently inherited a system at work.
-P3 800mhz
-four 18gb SCSI drives
-Matrox RT2000
-256 mb RDRAM
-cdrom/burner
-Protools
-Adobe 5.1

It is a dual boot system- one goes to Win98se the other to Win2k. Nothing works right now. Many things lock up. The former employee says that it used to have a RAID controller in it- but no longer. The drives are all separate. I do not have the original 98 or 2K install disks.
Do I nuke everything (EG. reformat)and just re-install 98, then 2K? Or is there an easier way.....

Why dual boot? Video editing works much better with NTFS formatted hard drives, where you don't have to break your video into segments. Windows XP Pro will also allow you to take your extra drives and create a single, large, software RAID to store your video files on. I'd reformat the system with XP Pro.
