SCSI RAIDs and Win98
on May 29, 2003 at 2:28:07 pm

I have what I believe to be a RAID array of SCSI drives. Will something like this work with Win98 and a Matrox RT2000 setup?

I do not think so. When I first Purchased my RT2000 I looked at several SCSI Raid cards and none had drives for windows 98. I currently used an adaptec 2000s raid controller under windows XP and am very happy. I baught my RT2000 July if the year it was release and have been through all the version of video tools. My current setup with XP Premiere 6.5 and MVT 3.1 has been stable for over a year now i.e. ZERO crashes. What I can tell you is if you want SCSI RAID and a Stable editing platform go up to at least 2000 (XP has better multimedia and plug and play support)

Here is my current hardware
845 PE motherboard
2ghz P4
512 mb DDR
40gb ata 100 boot drive
180 gb LVD raid array on adaptec 2000s SCSI Raid
HP DVD recorder
