I've been editing video's for youtube for quite some time now and recently started to correct my footage to broadcast specs. I'm using mediacomposer with the Y waveform etc to corect the image.
I've noticed the picture flattens when you set the black/white levels between 16 and 235. When I put the levels against (just between) the outer boundries of my scope the picture looks more real and lively.
My question is: would there be any reason to make a video which will not be put on dvd or on a broadcast tape, within broadcast safe limits? I start to think true black and white would be better for youtube.
