Here is my situation. I am launching a new program and due to our small launch budget, we will be using a public access studio. They have four SD 16:9 cameras that seem pretty decent (Sony DXC-D30WS), but I think that the other gear is degrading the image pretty bad. For example, when looking at the NTSC color bars that the system is generating, there is a dark, shadow-like band between the Red and Blue, and the Magenta and Green bars. When we have done some test shooting, this shows up as a weird shadowy halo around anyone wearing red.
So, my idea was to take a video signal right off each camera via a BNC out and connect each one to a small recorder. This would give me four independent video clips that I would have to edit together in post for a 30-minute tape-to-live show.
Is this a good strategy? Is there a better way of doing this?
