I have a basic newbie question on video quality. I primarily am just using WMM right now. When I download my MPEG clips from my Sony Hard Drive camera to my PC I have to convert them to WMV in order to upload the files to WMM. At that point I lose quite a bit of video quality. I then lose more video quality, once I finalize the WMM project.
What would be my best route to avoid losing a lot of video quality. Is there a better file converter I can use; is there an inexpensive editing software package(Pinnacle, Avid etc) I can use that will sustain the video quality? Not sure of what direction I should go (without spending a lot of money) to keep my original video quality(or make it better).
