I'm considering buying a few tapeless recording devices for my school. These will be used by students of varying degrees of proficiency.
I was thinking of getting a Firestore HS-200, but see that Datavideo has a lower cost option. It seems the Firestore is a bit smaller, sleeker, and has a nicer screen. The Datavideo runs on AA batteries, and has a more bare-bones display. Which one is easier to use?
It will be used on our existing Canon GL1 cameras and Sony HVR A1U cameras. Compatibility with future models via firmware upgrades would be nice, though I suspect future camera purchases will have built in CF recording.
I am looking for recommendations on the best solution.
