Hi...guys...I am new to this forum and thank everybody.
I have a problem...recently I acquired a new edit system and I edit on Avid Media Composer 4.0
First my core system specs:
Core i3 530 (2.93 GHz)
Mobo : Intel DH55TC ( with one PCI e and one PCI slot)
RAM: DDR3 Xion 4 GB (2+2)
HDD 500GB Seagate SATA
Graphics Card: nVIDIA Geforce 9400
OS: Windows 7 Professional
I tried to capture through my one CCD camera i.e. Panasonic NV-GS27 using a 1394 card in the PCI slot, the graphics card being in the PCI e slot....but it failed.
The problem is, even if the system detects the 1394 card while connecting the cam through a 1394 cable and the device manager displays "VIA OHCI 1394 device", Avid shows up "NO I/O signal " in its capture window resulting in the failure to digitize DV media (PAL, DVCAM 25i)
I tried using different fire wire card but to no avail.
I tasted the same process using a PC (Pentium 4, DDR - 256 MB and with Avid Xpress DV 3.5 with OS Win XP, 2002 Professional, SP2), the same camera and a fire wire card ( though different) and got the footage onto the HDD....successfully.
I am puzzled as I can't find out any solution yet. Can't understand either if it's an OS related issue or a hardware problem....
