New Build Input (DIY MAR10)
on Mar 1, 2010 at 11:54:47 pm

I put this list of components together for my new machine. This would only be the second computer I've built, so I would really appreciate it anyone and everyone could look it over and comment if anything looks fishy. Also, please feel free to recommend different components.

I followed the DIY7.7 build fairly closely except for a different motherboard, which I'm a bit nervous about. But I wanted more than 6 SATAs. So please look closely at my motherboard choice.

This will be running the Adobe suite.

for Adobe you want a Cuda Supported card. with CS5 coming out shortly and having the mercury engine which needs Cuda support
they are only supporting GTX285 and tehn higher quadros.
the 285 will outperform all quadros.
so buy one.

also get Mushkin ram the corsair is way over priced.

I love the new looks & features of the new Gigabyte MOBO. My GA-EX58-UD4P works fine with CS4. report back!!! *Do note that the gigabyte SATA ports on my MOBO don't like certain CD/DVD/Bluray drives. I hope they fixed that issue with the "A" version MOBOs. If you have a problem, be sure to plug them into your Intel SATA ports and I suppose there is nothing wrong using the PATA port.
