Raid 0 & chipset
on Dec 19, 2009 at 7:06:38 pm

What is best chipset on motherboard for i7 920??
Also in Raid 0, you put your OS on one hard drive and what do you put on the other for video editing?? Do you put the editing software and just use it for the rendering and copying from camcorder? Please explain how to set it up for me. Also would it be better to use a digital hard drive for the video or the same as the main one?? Thanks and Merry Christmas to all..........

any onboard raid is fine with an X58 chipset.

drives should look like this ideally

1) OS and software only NO RAID EVER (do make an image often)
2) work/capture (can be raid 0 but not required for DV compress HDV captured thru firewire)
3) Final render output drive (can be raid 0)

4) ext back up drive
