I've just upgraded from Studio 9 to Studio 12 Ultimate. PC more than meets requirements. I'm editing HD footage from an HV30.
A method I always used in 9 was this: Take video clips and drag/drop it to an audio track (to use the audio from the video clip under a different video clip). At a certain point I could split that former video clip positioned on the audio track and copy/paste the remainder back to the video track as a full video clip. No problem. Works great for going to b-roll footage when someone is talking.
However, it seems in 12 I cannot do this. I've tried many ways but the bottom line seems to be I cannot. This is devastating to my workflow and I am looking for any info on how to remedy this. I can't believe that I would have spent $130 on a program that is 3 versions newer than my last program but can't perform a basic editing function. PLEASE HELP!!
