OK so I have a finished project with DVD authoring. My final copy is DVD-R and it works fine in all my DVD players. I send it away to a replication house and they report back it has errors of some kind but they say it will still work in most machines. They ask if I want to proceed. I say yes. On with the process. I get my thousand copies of replicated retail ready product. Works fine in all my machines. Later I get some customers that complain my movie doesn't have audio in some parts. I take the disk back and test it on my DVD player, it works fine. I'm stumped. My question is how can I find these errors? Why do the dvds work in some machines and not others? Is there a program that will isolate the problem and let me fix it so I can get a solid master? Help!
If your total bitrate is too high, then some players will have errors, and your replication house will report errors. The maximum bitrate for both video and audio is 9.8 Mb/sec. I've found it's best to keep the total below 7.
Nero has a utility to check for bitrate throughout the disc.
