I have a basic problem/question.. I am running Windows XP2 Pro with Sony DW-G120a drive firmware MYR5. The DVD recorder I formatted/recorded the DVD's with is a Toshiba DVD Video Recorder D-R410KU.
After recording VHS to DVD +R discs on the Toshiba DVD Recorder (formatted in video mode), I can view them on my computer. However, if the DVD+R disc is formatted in VR format (in the DVD recorder), the recorded DVD (which plays on other DVD players ok), cannot be read on my computer. It does not recognize any DVD in the DVD drive. I have tried it twice and it is apparently a problem with the formatting and not just a bad disk.
Am I doing something wrong or is this "VR format" not compatible with computer systems? I can read the DVD+R disks if they are formatted and recorded in video format on the DVD recorder.
I would appreciate any help/directions you can provide.
