G-raid hard drive processing
on Nov 13, 2008 at 6:59:06 pm

I am considering buying a G-raid 2 T hard drive. Sold here, hooks up by firewire. My system is adequate for video editing, P4, 3g processor, 2g ram, etc. It cannot currently handle the HD video I take with my Sony HD camera. If I purchase this hard drive, will it be able to handle the video processing without any other changes to my system? I don't quite understand the striping or mirroring of raid, and wonder if I'll still have to do that in my system if I same the video to this hard drive. I'm real green at the HD stuff. Any help?

The RAID controller is built into the external drive. Just plug it in and your computer sees it as a single drive. The eSATA interface version is faster, though.
