How to put a Video Clip on Digital Player
Many a people may have the same requirement as me: when using a video converter to get a video for a portable player, we just want a segment in the video and wish to cut unwanted parts. The tool I’m using to convert PSP video can accomplish the little task fairly well.
Just like most video converters, this Xilisoft video converter does the job to convert a video from one format to another. Well, here let’s only pay attention to the video-clipping function.
After loading the source video, click the “Clip” button in the tool bar to open the video clip window.
The picture below is the video clip interface on which I labeled the important explanations.
The first play button is used to play the whole movie while the second is for playing the clipped segments.
Set end point button and set start button are the main tools to clip videos.
New clip button enables us to clip next segment.
Move up and move down buttons can adjust the sequence of clipped segments.
Clips area shows the clipped segment info.
If “Output segments as whole one” is checked, the clipped segments will be output as a whole file, or the clipped segments will be output respectively.
Here take “Shrek” clipping as an example.
First, click the play source button to preview the movie. And when it comes the part you like, just click” Set start point” to set the start time or drag the cursor on the time axis to choose the point you like.
Then drag the cursor to where you want the movie stops and click “Set end point” to fix the end point. Then we get the first segment. If you only want to pick one segment from the video, just click “OK” to assure the operation and exit the clip window.
Or if you want to clip another segment, click “New clip” button and then repeat the previous steps to create a new segment.
You can change the exact start or end time by inputting the start and end time in the clip area manually. And if you choose “Output segments as whole one”, it would be useful of the function to change the sequence of the segments by clicking “move up” and “move down” buttons.
Click “Ok” after finishing clipping to exit the interface and enter main interface. Then you can see a clip contained two segments appearing in the file list. As we choose “Output segments as whole one”, we can only output the segments as one file; or if we do not choose it, we can respectively process each segment.
The software also offers simple function to realize video clip conversion on the “Advanced Profile Settings” by setting “Start Time” and “Duration” to convert one segment from the video. It’s not as flexible as feature above.
The tool may satisfy you, if you find a movie too long to fit your player well or you want to cut the part you dislike in the video.
