Why doesn't the DVD movie play in computer
on Apr 4, 2008 at 6:39:31 pm

I recently burned my first Dvd Video. It plays on my computer and on my dvd player. But I burned a copy and sent it to a friend and all she sees is a green screen with audio. Why doesn't it work on her computer.
I made the movie using ULEAD Movie Factory. Also, when I burn the DVD, do I need all of the BUP, IFO, and VOB files or can I just use a specific file?

Some DVD players don't play home made DVDs very well. Sometimes the brand of blank DVD you use can make a difference. I use Verbatim myself and I have had good luck, but you should test yourself.

To play the movie on your computer, you can get by with the VOB files. To play on a regular DVD player you should have all the files and they need to be in the correct folder.

If your friends DVD player is older, say 4 or more years then it might just not work no matter what you do.
