When workstation is no alternative?
on Dec 6, 2007 at 10:41:03 am

I can see that workstations are highly recommended fro videoediting. However, travelling gives me no choice but to go for a laptop.

The main specs are the following;

Intel Core 2 Duo-prosessor T7700 (2.40 GHz, 4 MB L2-buffer, 800 MHz FSB. (Will there be a big difference if I downsize to the 2.2 GHz)?

2048 MB 667 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2 x 1024]. (The alternative is [2 x 2048] Would I gain a lot by going for this option and is it a disadvantage that it isn't [ 4 x 1024])?

400 GB (7200 rpm) SATA RAID 0 Striping (2 x 200 GB)

Dual 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8700M GT graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology

I will get an XP Pro for this laptop as well.

According to the system recommendations I should have a system where I can get some videoediting done?

Can someone give me advice about laptop editing? It would be sad to go for a computer and find out that it wouldn't handle video editing.
