Datavideo DAC200 and Canopus ADVC110, which one?
on Nov 27, 2007 at 3:20:57 pm

Hi wonderful guys,

I took my time to go thru your website reading the spec & pix of both Datavideo DAC200 and Canopus ADVC110. I found it difficult to figure out the difference, if any, in the work being done by these two devices. Although, there’s just a slight difference in their price.

I’m just new to editing work and I’m at the verge of picking any of these, kindly advise on the choice: since you know better.

Thx - Runsman

ADVC110 is better IMO, and won't give u compatibility issues.

My concern about 1394 ports on ADVC110

Chipocludo: ADVC110 is better IMO, and won't give u compatibility issues.

Thx Chipocludo for this. But what do u mean by IMO, pls?

I am more particular about the firewire ports on this item. But I read a thread from http://www.ediusforum.grassvalley.com that the 1394 port on ADVC110 is for ''trial & error'': meaning sometimes it works and can also fail...... Pls, what is your comment on this from experience?

Runsman.

the ADVC110 is a very reliable unit. as is the dac200. You'll get great results with either.

Right now we are running a special with the ADVC - you get a free copy of Edius Neo. A pretty cool little video editing program. http://www.videoguys.com/canopus.htm
