FRAME CROPPING IN EDITING HD IN DV MODE PREMIERE CS3
on Sep 19, 2007 at 2:09:39 pm

Hi,

I am using a SONY HDR HC7 with good results when inputting & outputting via iLink (firewire) on HD only.

When I edit a DV project in PREMIERE CS3 the source clip appears ok, but once on the timeline it converts to severe cropping (about middle 1/3 of picture showing). In other words, conversion to DV crops and I have no other way of rendering quality DV from HD source.

I have tried forcing recognition of HD Anamorphic and other pre-settings using the INTERPRET FOOTAGE command, to no avail.

I have a feeling this may be a bug (I have used the recent update patch). Does anyone have any solution?

Many thanks.

This probelm occurs when working in a STANDARD DEFINITION PROJECT using HIGH DEFINITION FOOTAGE which BECOMES CROPPED.

Ta,

CONVERSION TO SD / DV SOLVED - BUT NOT ON COMPUTER
on Oct 3, 2007 at 10:26:13 am

Hi,

I have resolved this by using the camera to convert/output DV - but I have no conversion system on the computer yet - which would be useful. I will start a new link on conversion to standard def.
