How can I improve rendering speeds of HD video to WMV?
on Jul 10, 2007 at 12:53:07 pm

I just recently purchased a Canon HV20 HD camcorder, and am playing with editing the video I capture with it.

I edited about 17 minutes of video, and started exporting it from Adobe Premiere Pro 2 using their Export tool into WMV-HD format.

This process took over 6-7 hours.

Then I had to convert it to a smaller web-friendly format, that took another 1.5-2 hours.

What can I do to reduce these render times, short of getting a new PC?

Will a product such as Matrox RT.X2 help me save time here? Are there any other products that will help? The RT.X2 is on the larger side of what I want to spend budget wise; but let me know what's out there that will help with my speed issues.

Regards,
Joe

PS: My PC is a 2gb Windows XP Pro Desktop with an Intel HT CPU.
