Video card doesn't fit
on Jul 7, 2007 at 10:56:24 pm

I'm building one of the config recommended by the videoguys, I've got the Asus - P5W DH Deluxe and the card is called Sapphire X1950 PRO, and it doesn't fit in the PCI express 16 slot even though on the card it says that a PCI express 16 is required.
What do you think?
Phil

PCI Express 16 slots have a physical catch on one end of the connector that must be pushed open in order to insert the card. Releasing the catch then locks the card in the slot.

Yes, I'm confused. I have the physical catch on the slot, on the board. I don't have any doubt about the mobo. I'm wondering about the graphic card now. It has two pieces of info that are confusing. On the side panel it says under system requirements: PCI Express Based PC required with one x 16 lane graphics slot available. I do have that on the MOBO. But on the front of the graphic card it says AGP version. That's weird, isn't it?

Sounds like you have an AGP graphics card. Sorry, but it won't fit.
