Is USB 2.0 fast enough?
on Jun 27, 2007 at 10:05:03 am

I'm editing some video on a laptop with no firewire. Is an external USB 2.0 drive going to be fast enough?
I'm looking at the Seagate FreeAgent 500GB USB 2.0. It has a transfer rate of 480 Mbps and speed of 7200 rpm.
Will I be able to store my raw footage and edit directly from it?
Thanks.

Hi Jon,
I have the video clips already on the computer. I plan on copying them on to the drive and editing to / from the drive.
Thanks
Gav
