i have a Hitachi dvd handy cam, and i am having trouble transferring its footage into an editing program. I usually use Pinnacle to edit but the dvd is in the wrong format to go into this program. I have tried the Super converter to convert the format in order to put it into an editing program, but it doesn't work as i would like it to.
does any one have any advise on the simplest way to edit footage from a dvd camera in an editing program and then put it back on to dvd? Thank you.
I'm not sure about Pinnacle, but with Premiere, I can copy the VOB files to my hard drive, rename them to MPG, and import them into Premiere. I can then drop them on the timeline, render them, and export them into standard AVI files, which I can then edit.
Alternatively, I can digitize analog video with my Matrox RT.X100, so I can simply play back the DVD and digitize the video.
