Adobe and Vista
on Apr 20, 2007 at 4:42:47 pm

Greetings all. We are currently testing Adobe Production studio 2 with Vista business 64 and so far guys everything is looking good. It definately fixes the Ram available issue with Adobe and After affects loads with all 4GB of ram that a 32 bit program can use. This system currently has 8 GB ram total.I also had PP2 and AE loaded at the same time with tons of ram to go around. Vista definately has some excellent protential for Adobe. Adobe is still 32 Bit only and installs in the X86 program file directory but the 2 GB ram ceiling of XP for a program is gone. We are using an Nvidia 7300 right now in the setup first to see how Vista effects a lower end system with more ram and so far its been better performance than XP with a 7300. Have not run into any bugs with PP2 yet and will let you know as things update from edit process to AE work and then to Encore encoding.

One thing of note is that Pro audio devices with PP2 though are suspect because of how Vista handles Asio. Will let you know what we find out there for audio work in PP2 and Audition. We changed the current setup to onboard because of real sluggish capturing and frame drops.

If anyone else is also working or testing Vista please list bugs/problems that develope here in this thread when you get a chance. Thanks agian all
