I'm considering upgrading my editing software. I've been using Studio 8 for a long time, and have been looking at upgrading to v. 10. But after reading about some of the complaints some folks have had with it I'm thinking of uping the ante SLIGHTLY. I can spend about $500. I am now looking at buying Vegas 7 (with the rebate it's under $400). I have two questions:
1) Is Vegas 7 a recommended upgrade from Studio (worth the money)?
2) Are any of these NLE's compatible with eachoter? In other words will I be able to open up a studio project with Vegas or another program?
Vegas 7 is a good choice for upgrading to a more powerful, full featured NLE. You will not be able to import your sequences.
Another uopgrade to conside as a Studio user is Avid Liquid. http://www.videoguys.com/avidliquid.html It's another NLE we highly recommend. We offer specuial upgrade prices from Studio, and you can import your sequences. They will not come in 100%, but you will get a good head start on these projects.
