Benfits to using a seperate cature card?
on Jan 14, 2007 at 4:16:50 am

Besides being able to capture analog, what benefits will I gain by using a separate capture card? I'm planning to either build or buy an new system and want to get the right stuff. I got Pinnacle Studio 10.5 as a gift, but my old system wont handle it. If I have firewire inputs and the software allows me to capture, what do I gain by using a seperate capture card?
And any reccommendations on a consumer level card would be appreciated.

Thanks

depends on the card. some cards will just give you analog output. other cards offer REALTIME output. Check out the Matrox RTX100 on here at http://www.videoguys.com/rtx100.html
