Capturing clips from home-made DVD
on Oct 3, 2006 at 3:54:46 pm

Forgive me if I've missed a post with this answer-I looked through many posts and couldn't find it.
Can anyone recommend/tell me how to make video clips from a home-made DVD? I would like to encompass some of the footage from my DVD into a slide show, but can't get the software to make clips. (My camcorder is not digital, so I had to go ahead and make the DVD.) I have no trouble copying a track into Windows Movie Maker. The footage will only play so far-but when I pull it up in Power DVD on my computer, it plays just fine. So I know it's there. However, I only want part of it. Is there a way/software program that plays the DVD and you can copy only certain footage? (Sort of like Sound Forge?)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Confused :

If you download the free trial version of Adobe Premiere Elements 2, you should be able to import the VOB files off any non copy protected DVD and then edit them as you wish. I've tried it once, and it seems to work ok. Very Happy
