capture help: capVHS MPEG or Vegas M2T??
on Jul 13, 2006 at 4:02:25 am

I just got a Sony HC-3 and want to capture the footage in the best quality. Will capVHS MPEG capture the same quality as Sony Vegas' M2T file?? Does it matter- isn't digital simply digital when captured??

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Nat

Doesn't matter what you use. DVHS is for people that have older versions of vegas that do not have the capability of capturing m2t files, or people that want to capture the MPEG2-TS streams from their HD DVRs.

The .m2t file on your HDV tape is all digital and it won't make a difference what program you use to transfer it from the camera to the hard drive. The difference is what program, if any, you use to render the .m2t file to a .avi file for editing.
