new supermicro HDV rig

I'm trying to build a new

Premiere Pro 2.0
and After Effects workstation.

Originally I was thinking of the TYAN K8WE,
but have since changed my mind and opted for the following components:

I'm curious as to what you guys think.

> PNY Quadro FX560 or Matrox APVe [not sure on this one]

Any feedback would be welcome.
I'm a little worried about the Supermicro MB because I can't find any reviews of it online.
And also what videocard is a better choice?
Is the PNY better?
Thanks guys.

I dont think the MOBO has enough memory sockets Laughing Laughing Laughing
32GB max.. geez. I would build it in a heartbeat if I had extra money hanging around. (I'll have PC envy)

If you do a lot of rendering in AE and animations then go for it. If you don't do alot of that then ask yourself-- what would be a better choice for less $$. If you are like me, I build a new NLE computer every other year. So I don't stick too much $$ into it.

Supermicro makes great MOBOs.

and this is a link to compatible video cards http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/opengl.html

my 3 cents

thanks Lee.
yeah i realize the supermicro is a little over the top,
but I really need a dual proc rig since I'll be doing HDV work.

After some more research I'm now reconsidering the Tyan thunder K8WE,
which the videoguys also recomend in their DIY article-

but I would consider other dual proc boards if any of you guys have better recomendations.

Thanks

I didn't think you needed 2 CPUs for HDV work.. maybe for HD. If you do.. then you could go for two non-xeon CPUs
