Xeon Quad Core questions
on Jun 2, 2006 at 7:23:05 pm

I want to upgrade my current Xeon Dual Core to a quad core xeon.

I use Avid Liquid 7.1 and Ultra to for my editing duties

I shoot in Sony HDV (HDVR fx1)

So My timeline is HDV 1080i but I output to WMV 720p and 480p and 480p DVD

Anyway the rendertime hit when I Went to HDV slowed my workflow so I priced what I need to upgrade.

I just want to know if this setup is worth it speed wise.

The whole system is pretty low priced for a quad core $1800.00 total and it will actually cost me $1300.00 since I already have some of the components already. anyway since it a new chipset I wnat to be sure I am doing the right thing.
