I do not have a dvd recorder hooked up to my Mac. I have one in my bedroom and have discovered that, like telephones, you really need to have two machines in order to get full use and editing facilities out of a recorder - particularly if the one you have also records on RAM disks..... Now, after all these years of trying desperately to transfer silly pc files (mostly avi pornfilms - yes, someone really does admit to this practice...) into usable mac files, burning them to vcd and then playing them on a dvd player to record onto a dvd recorder... I just read that there are standalone recorders that are "mpeg compatible".
Does this mean what I want it to mean...?
That I can just burn mpeg files onto disks and these player/recorders will play them - thus enabling me to record them on my exisitng dvd recorder??
and, if so, should I rush out and buy one today or wait six months until someone is smart enough to make one that also plays avi's and wmv's as well?
