FC logging Error - Multiple connection detected by the local host
on Apr 14, 2016 at 8:18:27 am

Hi there,

I’m experiencing an issue using the manger on a mac client connected via FC.
I put the 8GB atto FC card that was on another mac on the mac pro where now I have the problem, on this mac pro was previously installed a 4GB atto FC card.

Everything seamed to work fine, but logging on the TB Manger it turned me this error message:
“Multiple connection detected by the local host, until this is remedied the client will not work properly.
This error is usually caused by the fibre channel or the network connector being moved to a different port. To solve it either move the connector to the original port or manually unmount all volumes mounted for this hot on the server”.

Drivers and firmware are updated to the recommended version for TB 6.1. I’ve tried both restarting the server and reinstalling the manager on the client. Nothing changed.
However the system is working smoothly on the SAN, but we are going to start a big project and I want to be sure that nothing can happen during the mix session.

Does anyone knows how to fix this?

Michele

Ok, we solved the problem.
In first place It was not clear what the error message was about...
We discovered that a ghost connection from the client was recognised by the server, even restarting it.
So the Terrablock login from that machine was recognised as a double connection: this explain the error message.

I simply changed the "Computer name", in the Mac System Preferences's Sharing panel, in order to make the server recognise that Mac as a different client.

That's it, I'd had to understand quickly this silly problem...

Michele,

Glad you figured out how to work around it.

Are you running V6.5.5 of the Terrablock software? Or are you on an earlier version?
