No need! Virtual volumes are not tied to any contiguous physical location on disk. This is also true of the disk set a whole. If you make a volume in the last 5% of the disk set, you're not allocating any more of the inner sectors than the outer sectors.
This is very different from hardware RAID systems that have a linear write path from outer to inner portion of the drive, with the inevitable speed degradation after 75-80% full.
