I've troubleshooted, deinterlaced, etc. This is footage from maybe five years ago, so I don't have camera settings easily available.

Everything looks fine when I export, save for when there are any slow motion sequences. Those sequences have the famous squiggly lines running through them. Any pointers?

Have test exported with Field Dominance Override set to OFF and the Deinterlace option CHECKED.

P.S. Just checked that the actual clips that distort when exporting have a different frame rate. Is there a way to change individual clip's frame rate?

Settings
1920 x 1080. 29.97i

Are you processing your slow motion with optical flow?

I JUST started doing that after researching some more. Gonna do a test export right now.

No luck. Same problem but it's not as bad. Any other suggestions? Much appreciated.

Your description really sounds like something that's interlaced, but has been incorrectly resized or deinterlaced upstream.

Originally you said this was 1080i/29.97. I presume you mean both the project (sequence) setting and the original source media. This should be Upper Field dominant. Are you able to view this through a real broadcast i/o device to an actual broadcast monitor? If so, without any manipulation, when you put a clip into the sequence, does it look normal on your display when playing it back?

Thanks for your help. Figured it out. A simple switch to "29.97p" instead of "i" solved it.
