End of QT 7?

I have recently noticed a pretty big shift in color from QT 7 when sharing from X (h.264 files)

QT X looks pretty dead on with the canvas in X

Anyone else noticed, or have you ditched QT 7 a while ago?

Can't say if it's changed recently - I stopped having any need to use QT 7 years ago. I'll assume that like the rest of the legacy apps, it won't even under High Sierra.

Apple has depreciated QT 7 a while ago. It's dead and has been for some time.

I liked all those export options it had.

Oh well.

[Tony West] "I liked all those export options it had."

Agreed. Me, too. Switch from Telestream is an alternative, but it's not cheap.

QT7 was AMAZING. The ability to flip/flop video with a simple save - extract all of the various video or audio tracks independently, mark in/out with FRAME ACCURACY (unlike QTX) for trimming. The list goes on and on.

I routinely show people things that QT7 can do that they are amazed by. I will be sad when it no longer works.

[Jason Brown] "QT7 was AMAZING."

You sound like someone getting your money's worth out of 7 pro like me : )

It's funny how quickly some forget. I remember how mad folks were when QT X came out and lacked so much of the functions.

Sure, you can use compressor but the point is you didn't have to take that extra step.

You could basically use that thing like a mini editor.

It still works, I just notice that colors are little off. They are not baked in off, because it looks fine in other programs.

Personally, I think they didn't want to support that much power for something that cheap. It needed to be gotten rid off : )

I've still got QT7.7.3 running OK in Sierra 10.12.2 and still occasionally use it for quick rough cut and export options.

Compressor seemed to have taken over the role of QT7, but then upped the ante by offering a host of other features as well.

Pretty much one of THE biggest reason for it's demise, yes.

Have you ever looked at "KYNO"? Pretty amazing what that offers along those lines.
