Problems converting ProRes 4444 XQ files

Hi all,

I am trying to edit a trailer on FCP 7. I have ProRes 4444 XQ files, but they are too heavy for my Macbook Pro. I tried to convert them with Compressor, but it is a lengthy process to convert all the clips. Right now I am trying to do the conversion with the QT player. It's taking a long time as well.

Can you recommend a quicker and easier conversion process?

As for the output, ProRes 422 or even H.264 will do.

Thanks!

What is the vintage of your macBook Pro? What kind of hard drive are you hooked up to?

Have you tried the "Better Performance" setting?

Otherwise, Compressor is going to be your best bet for conversions. Just leave everything on "fastÆ and set audio to Passthrough.
