multicam question?
on Jul 11, 2016 at 9:16:46 pm

I created a multicam clip and edited a cut, call that V.1

Got some notes from the director and made a snapshot of V.1 and started working the notes info into that cut.

Needed to add angle to the multicam of another take on a section of the video so with the angle editor I went back to the original multicam clip, added the needed angle.

Now when I work on the snapshot ( where I have already made a number of the required changes) the angle I add is not visible. I thought the change I made to the parent clip would ripple through but apparently not.

Is the correct procedure add the angle to the original v.1 cut , then make the snapshot v.1 with the added angle, and finally implement changes?

Snapshots are the same as Save a copy or Save As- not interconnected at all.

Am I right in thinking that duplicating a project vs snapshotting it should have worked the way he expected though?

What is the difference between an independent compound clip and a snapshot?

I'm assuming that the OP is talking about making a snapshot of a project vs a duplicate. I my understanding is right, a project duplicate will share charges made to things like compound clips, Multicam clips, etc but a project snapshot breaks those connections and stands alone.

Yes, I made a snapshot of the project then had to add in an new angle to the multicam clip. I went back to the original multicam clip added the angle, but the added angle did not appear in the snapshot version of the project.... But now I have bigger problems- see my new post.
