adjusting separate audio levels
on Jun 16, 2016 at 8:16:41 pm

OK, I have a voice on one track and an acoustic guitar on another track of a two track camera file.

I can switch to two track mono, but can't fathom how to separately adjust the volumes of the two tracks.

Any help would be appreciated.

ctrl-opt-S will expand them in the timeline so you can adjust them individually.

Super!

I can do that (and thanks) but when I do the automation the top track remains turned down even though the track automation shows that track is turned up.

The audio is in dual mono, btw.

Thanks again,

Ty

Gremlins, I always blame Gremlins.

Glad it was sort of resolved, I didn't know what to reply with as that wasn't something I've run into.

Does this work the same for a stereo track. Just expand it in the timeline and adjust? Are there other ways of doing this?

I usually turn the stereo track into a double mono one from the inspector, and then expand the clip in the timeline. Another way could be breaking apart clip items selecting the video clip on the timeline and again selecting the audio track, then working on them separately, but it's something different.
