Transitions effecting transparent PNG image and Video below :)
on May 27, 2016 at 8:28:52 pm

I have a logo that's sitting above a video clip. I want the motion transition I added to the PNG to only effect the PNG, but it appears to cause the entire composition to "transition" and it effects the video below. Very confused on why it's doing this. Any help would be appreciated! I've circled the PNG in the viewer to see where it is.

Yep- that's how it works. You should make the the PNG and the underlying footage into a Compound Clip first. Then add the transition to the Compound Clip.

Quick trick if you don't want to muck it up with compounds...

Blade the logo (or clip). If you want a 30 frame transition, blade the clip 15 frames in. Drop the transparency to 0 of the left portion (or right portion if it's an outgoing transition) and apply the transition to the bladed spot. The transition will stop affecting the video below it because it now has a (transparent) source to affect.
