Viewing all audio sources in Angle Editor in Multiclip
on Jan 1, 2016 at 3:41:41 pm

I am trying to detach Audio from a multi clip that has 1 main audio that was shot in camera, and one audio source that was recorded on an H4N.

I performed the multi clip, put it in a project, then put the Multicam clip in the project.

When I right click and press "Expand Audio Components" I can see both audio sources one on top of the other Like the picture
below.

When I press "Open in Angle Editor" I can only see one source of audio not both even though I have both audio sources selected in the Inspector. See the picture Below.

My question is, how can I see all sources of audio in the Angle Editor of a Multicam clip?

Thanks

I'm a little lost here... I can see both audio sources in every image you've attached.

What you can do in the angle editor is limited because, as the name suggests, it's mora about the angles than the individual clips, detaching audio is something you'd normally do in the project timeline. In the Angle Editor, you'd normally just turn on/off audio monitoring of the angle you don't want to hear.

Why do you need to detach the audio in the Angle Editor? I'm trying to imagine a scenario where that would be the appropriate place to do it.

OK,

With a Multicam Clip in a timeline, How can I Detach all 3 of my audio sources so I can edit in multi clip mode without having to worry about the audio getting cut? I am going to be mixing the audio sources in the multicam clip when I'm done cutting just the picture.

Thanks

There may be better ways, and probably are, but I just do the edit, letting FCPX do it's thing.

Once I'm done (or before I start) , I assign a role to each of the multicam audio tracks (angle 1, angle 2, etc) then I export audio only, roles as seperate files. I then bring those new audio files back into FCPX and lay them under the multiclip.

Hi,

That sounds like a great way to do that. How do you do it?

I assume you make the multi clip first then you put that in a project. But then how do you export the 2 or 3 or maybe more audio files? How do you have access to each one individually once they are in your Multi clip.

Please tell me exactly how you export audio only then put it underneath the Multicam clip.

Thanks in advance.
