Can I match color correction filters already laid out?

I know you can do match clip with two clips in FCP X (although I don't find it terribly useful). Sometimes, however, I have color correction on two clips of the same scene, and after making a change in one clip, I want to have the color correction in the other clip reflect the change. Right now, I have to delete the existing filter on the 2nd clip before copying the new one. I imagine there is a quicker way however that I just don't know. Can I have a color correction filter match another color correction filter? If I do paste attributes and apply it that way, it just adds a second color correction filter to the clip I'm working on.

You could save an effects preset and apply that preset to whatever clip you like. You would still need to get rid of any other color correction on the clip, though.

Another method is to use a blank title track as an adjustment layer and have the color correction applied to that. Any clips underneath it will take on the effect.

Dedicated color apps like resolve have this feature.
