Transcodes from RedcineX

Wondering if anyone has done this: Transcode R3D files on a separate system (it has the Rocket card!) using redcineX to prores LTs? Then use those transcodes to edit, then to finish use relink to attach to the original R3D files.
I think this should work but I can't get it to workout

This will work in Resolve, not in FCPX.

I take that back. I was able to get a relink back to the .r3d file. I had to manually point it to the REDCODE clip within the .r3d container. Otherwise, it defaulted to the matching QuicKtime.

So you had to relink each clip individually, thats what I was finding. As soon as I tried a few at a time I couldn't get it to relink. Bummer.

Correct. That's where Resolve does a better job of relinking.

Send an fcpxml from your prores timeline back to red cine x. RCX will relink back to the r3d.

Export a "shallow" fcpxml and import back to fcpx.
