Exporting from FCP X-Audio compression
on Jun 10, 2015 at 4:20:37 pm

Hello - new to FCP X (and video editing to begin with).

I was wondering if anyone might know:

1) Does 'share', export file accomplish lossless audio compression? (default setting seems to be Video Codec - Apple ProRes422 and Audio file format doesn't seem modifiable but set at Quicktime Movie (Linear PCM) and the result is a .mov file.

2) For my application, I'm not concerned at all with how large the resulting file is nor do I necessarily need it in .mov format - as long as I can play it on a Mac and somehow on a pc (VLC?). I just need to ensure that the audio portion does not get compressed at all.

thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions to this newbie.
-John

You make audio settings in the share menu.

You have choice of wav or aiff for uncompressed.
