Multicam - lots of clips from same angle
on May 11, 2015 at 1:46:13 pm

Hi All

I'm trying to create a multicam timeline from a conference shoot. One angle was shot on an AF101 and so isn't limited to the 30 minute record time of the 5Diii that was shooting the second angle.

My question is this:

How do I create a multicam clip of the morning or afternoon session if one angle is one long clip (the AF101) and the second angle is spread over several clips (5Diii)?

Many thanks for any ideas.

Dan

Set the camera angles in the inspector (A for 101, B for 5D) and sync by angle and audio.

Select all the clips from the AF101.

Open the inspector and find the camera angle field.

Set the camera angle to "A".

Select all the clips from the 5D.

Open the inspector and find the camera angle field.

Set the camera angle to "B".

Select all the clips.

File > New > Multicam clip

Click "use Custom Settings" button.

Choose:

Angle Assembly > Camera Angle
Angle Clip Ordering > Automatic
Angle Synchronization> Automatic

Click "Use Audio for synchronization".

Click OK.

You'll have to use audio for the synchronization in his approach, unless you had the foresight to set all the cameras to time of day and free- running time code.
