The demo looks impressive. I'd love a way to do 3d text in FCPX.

It looks like a screaming deal right now.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I have it. I play with it but don't use it much yet. It really is as cool and easy to use as they make it out. And it's fast! Especially in Motion. Pretty cool you can import .obj 3D models right into it or a client logo as .svg and add texture, bevels, environmental lighting, etc.

It will eat RAM for breakfast.

Yep it's lovely if you need 3D logos and text- great way to go. Demands a lot of horsepower from your GPU however.

I bought mObject a while back, but have only really used it for one project so far. I also own Element 3D. They just updated mObject, so it now has more text presets and bevel options, and other cool stuff. Definitely worth the money; especially during this sale.

I bought mObject two months ago and it works great. At the time I only bough the plug-in without the bundled packs and now the Pro Bundle is the price of mObject alone I am kicking myself for not waiting because I would have definitely gone for the $149 Pro Bundle in a heart beat. The $69 plug-in alone is a no brainer if you need to import and work with 3D objects in your work.

My only complaint is that the license is tied to the UUID of your Mac. That means if you change your hardware and don't uninstall mObject first, it will stop working because it will think it's running on a different computer. Uninstalling puts your license key back so that it can be installed on another computer again. This is a real PITA because you know you are going to upgrade your hardware and forget to do this so it's just an accident waiting to happen.

I also believe that means you can only run it on one computer at a time. I constantly switch between my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro keeping my projects on an external drive and I currently have mObject installed on my Mac Pro and don't think it will install on my MBP. So the licensing is unreasonable IMHO. Most editors have at least a laptop and desktop and they should allow for two simulates installations at a minimum. Like I said, I haven't tried this yet but that's how I believe the license works so beware.

With one license? That's good news. I haven't installed it on my MBP yet. Now I'll have to try that and see. Thanks for the feedback.

I tried it, registered with my account and it worked. I just checked out the Faqs page again. Under Licensing explained point 4 is states that mproducts are not limited to one machine
http://www.motionvfx.com/faq.html#general/all/1

however under How to move an mplug it states that it needs to be uninstalled on one to work on another.
http://www.motionvfx.com/faq.html#mplugs/general/134

I have them running on both, haven't tried it at the same time, though. Haven't received any warnings or complaints yet.
